Our new Web Design Apprentice!

This week sees Aubergine’s new web design apprentice join the team in the Leighton Buzzard studio. Steph Henman (picture in the middle on our funky white sofa) starts her year-long apprenticeship in web design and development and will be learning programme skills in all the useful languages we use to deploy our clients’ websites.

As you may imagine, becoming a competent and skilled web designer takes time, focus and the ability to spot an error in 20,000 lines of web code – so attention to detail is a key skill to master quickly!

She’ll be mentored by Mark Tomkins, the creative director and Joe Mayhew the lead developer and will start her apprenticeship with getting an understanding of PHP, MySQL, Javascript, jQuery and object oriented programming, along with become proficient is developing on the popular content management system (CMS) and blogging platform, WordPress.

We’ll be giving regular updates on Steph’s progress as she develops her skills in the exciting industry.

Welcome, Steph!
