At this year’s NALC Annual Conference, the theme was ‘Future Communities’ and how parish & town councils will play a vital role in both planning and support for this forward-looking approach to how local government works in the community. As part of this, digital communications plays a major role in ensuring everyone has access to the information they need and are entitled to.

As part of the conference, Mark Tomkins, Founder and Creative Director at Aubergine and parish councillor, together with Daniel Purchese of Breakthrough Communications, also a councillor, presented a practical workshop to help councils of all sizes get to grips with how to make best use of digital communications as part of an overall strategy to support their communities. From website accessibility and transparency code compliance to social media channel messaging and communication strategy planning.
