We’re Hiring – A Digital Marketing Apprentice

Aubergine are looking for a digital marketing apprentice to join our team of 10 here in Leighton Buzzard town centre.  It will suit someone who has an eye for detail (spreadsheets will be used), and is comfortable using social media (following a plan, writing short excerpts, creating graphics).

Talents required:

  • analytical = can use Excel to manipulate data
  • grammatical = have a good standard of written English
  • collaborative = can work alongside both the Aubergine team and clients
  • versatile = can apply themselves to:– analysis of a Google AdWord campaign & highlight what is working, what isn’t
    – updating monthly / quarterly search optimisation reports, getting data from Google Analytics & formatting the powerpoint reports
    – writing of regular social media updates, using stimulus provided, for both Aubergine & our clients
    – creating simpler graphical elements (article headers, images for Facebook posts)
    – creating case studies of Aubergine projects, including formatting screenshots & writing up from an overview provided verbally by the project team

Skills that will be taught:

  • Google AdWords search optimisation (to a level where the apprentice will pass Google’s advanced level AdWords exams)
  • Analysis of website’s performance in non-paid search, to highlight areas of opportunity for better ranking
  • Use of Google Analytics to answer client questions & highlight areas of opportunity for a website’s improvement (to a level where the apprentice will pass Google’s Analytics exams)
  • Analysis of data using Excel
  • Creation of graphics using Photoshop / Illustrator
  • Writing of social media updates, in the context of a long term plan
  • Writing of short articles and case studies, from a brief

Example Tasks:

  • update a monthly Google AdWords spreadsheet report, and use Analytics to improve the campaign by updating keyword bids and keywords to be used / ruled out
  • update a quarterly SEO report using data from Analytics
  • write a case study on one of Aubergine’s projects, create the screenshots (eg www.aubergine262.com/portfolio/ecommerce-website-logo-design-direct-clothing/)
  • write and schedule Facebook posts for an Aubergine client
  • update Aubergine’s Twitter with links to newsworthy information
  • research and write a short article on a recent search engine development by Google
